JACOB'S STORY

Cherish every moment

At 13, Jacob’s light was dimmed when he lost his mum to cancer. He describes her as joyous, loving and she never let cancer define her.

However, when she passed, it was an incredibly painful time for their family. Jacob was bullied at school for being ‘the guy whose mum died of cancer’.

Canteen brought the brightness back into Jacob’s life. Through our programs, he’s learnt that his Mum’s memory can still shine even though she’s no longer here and that he has the support of new friends to help when he’s down.

Thank you to our incredible supporters for guiding Jacob, and many young people like him, to the light at the end of the tunnel.
